The Baqueery is a love letter to queer and trans community, centering healing, resistance, and joy through culinary creativity and community-building. The Baqueery's founder, Parisa Zamanian (they/them) has been baking as an act of love and solidarity since the beginnings of their memory, using food as a vehicle for nourishment, mutual aid, storytelling, and creating spaces for marginalized communities to feel seen and affirmed.
Coming soon: The Baqueery Baking Therapy. Parisa has been dreaming for years of integrating their therapeutic practice with baking as a tool for healing.
Parisa received their Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in 2013, their Master of Arts in Women’s History in 2014, and their Master of Social Welfare from UC Berkeley in 2020.
